Bali is full of diverse things to do. There’s plenty to do for every person!
1. Nusa Penida Day trip
Nusa Penida is a relatively undeveloped island in the southeast region of mainland Bali. It isn’t home to the luxurious beaches, organic cafes or trendy eateries that are now the norm in Bali here. It does, however, have one of the more beautiful tourist attractions in Bali. I’ve written extensively about how to travel to Nusa Penida here. Kelingking Beach from the viewpoint above
2. Mount Batur Trekking
Then I composed an entire blog about my experiences trekking up to the top of Mount Batur, but to put it in a nutshell this is what I would consider being an extremely high ROI hike The hike was short and not too difficult, but the views from the summit are incredible. Mount Batur is right next to Mount Agung, so on an overcast day, you’ll be able to see smoking Mount Agung, which makes for an incredible picture. Since you start this early, you’re done with climbing a mountain by 9 am! The morning is still in the air at Mount Batur
3. Canyoning in North Bali
We booked this tour through Adventure & Spirit which is a Bali canyoning group. We took the Double K. Double K route cost US$155 per person, and it was a blast. You can learn details about how to the canyon in my Ubud article. Adventure Canyoning – Just before going down the 15m waterfall, you can rappel down.
4. SCUBA Diving Trips
There are plenty of great diving spots to explore in Bali. Nusa Penida is home to some of the most popular dive spots, such as Crystal Bay and Manta Point. For those who love wreck diving, it is a style There is a fascinating wreckage (called USS Liberty) in Tulamben. I haven’t been to Amed (North in Bali) as well as Padangbai however, I have heard that the corals are excellent there as well. Bali divers are famous for the sightings of Mola-mola. It’s the massive Ocean sunfish. They are so flat and round that they resemble plates. Don’t be squeamish when you see Mola-mola. They can be difficult to identify. Diving at Manta Point, Nusa Penida
I booked my diving trip to Bali through an underwater shop named Nico Dives Cool. I highly recommend this shop since their equipment is in excellent condition and the boat is maintained. Scuba diving in Bali is priced between $60 and $85 per person. This includes transportation, rental equipment as well as lunch. Prices vary based on the location you are going to and the number of dives you’d like to make.
5. Visit Bali’s, Famous Temples
The most well-known temples of Bali are Tanah Lot Temple and the Uluwatu Temple. The two temples are well-known for their beauty and are easy to get to from the areas where most tourists stay, however, because of this they are flooded with tourists.Tirta Empul Temple in Central Bali
If you’re looking for something more tranquil, however then you should check out the following temples. Keep in mind that these temples are farther away from places like Seminyak as well as Kuta:
- Lempuyang Luhur Temple is known for its views from Mount Agung in the east of Bali.
- Ulun Danu Beratan Temple A temple situated on a lake in the middle of Bali.
- Tirta Empul Temple is known for its hot springs that are natural. Balinese believe that the water at the temple is a source of holy power. I suggest visiting the temple while you’re located in Ubud.
6. Waterfalls in Bali
Bali can also be home to many of the most stunning waterfalls. They are mostly only a day trip since some are situated in the mountains of North Bali, but there are others that are accessible via Ubud too. Kanto Lampo Waterfall near Ubud

7. Rice Terraces
Rice is a common food item in Bali. Okay, let me confirm that rice is a common food across every region of Asia in Bali and Indonesia is not the only one to enjoy this. Rice is as loved as Europeans are fond of bread and a meal isn’t sufficient without rice. This is why Bali is a huge rice producer and there are many Rice terraces to be found in Bali. Certain of them have become famous because of the lush green landscape from the terraces of rice within the region.
There are 2 rice terraces that you might want to check out:
- Tegallang Rice Field situated in Ubud The area is full of fields of rice on Bali however, the ones in Ubud are distinctive because the fields of rice are situated on a cliff, making the perfect photo spot.
- Jatiluwih The Rice Field located in Tabanan, Central Bali – The stunning nature of this terrace dates up to the 9th century. It’s a bit difficult to reach and there’s not much to do in the area, meaning there are fewer visitors here.
8. Kecak Fire & Trance Dance Performance
Kecak is a popular Balinese dance that involves fire as well as an interpretation of the Hindu Ramayana story. I suggest reading the story prior to the event (the event booklet will contain this information) since the whole story portion of the dance is performed in Balinese I can speak Indonesian very well and could not understand a single word. For the finale, the event will include the trance dance known as Kuda Lumping, where a performer in trance walks through burning coal and does not get hurt. Kecak Dance Performance in Ubud
- Uluwatu Temple Sunset, and Kecak Fire Dance: This is an excursion that includes transportation. Uluwatu is situated in the south of the city, therefore it’s an excellent idea to make arrangements for transportation.
